Community Trade mark Application & Registration

The Benefits of registering your trade mark:

  • Registering a trade mark helps protect your name or logo, as a name or logo are often a business’s most valuable asset.
  • Registered trade marks are normally granted on a first come first served basis – so a registration reduces the risk of someone else registering the trade mark before you.
  • When you apply to register a trade mark, it will help identify risks that may stop or limit you from using your name or logo.
  • A registered trade mark gives its owner the exclusive right to use that trade mark nationwide for the goods or services set out in the registration.
  • A registered trade mark makes it easier for you to enforce your rights.
  • It is cheaper to apply for a Community Trade mark then for individual applications in all member states of the European Union.
  • Once registered, you can continue to renew your registration indefinitely. The initial registration lasts for 10 years.
